On Friday, May 1, 2025, H.E Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam and accredited to Kingdom of Cambodia, met with H.E. Mr. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia.  Ambassador Nazari expressed Iran’s readiness to share its capabilities in the fields of technical and engineering services, industry, nanotechnology, petrochemicals, refinery construction, aerospace, construction, road-building, and participation in Cambodia’s development and infrastructure projects. He also emphasized the need to accelerate the finalization and signing of the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investment Agreement in order to establish a structured framework for economic cooperation. H.E. Mr. SUN Chanthol reaffirmed the Cambodian government’s full support for investment and investors under its national laws, and stressed that investment activities are not contingent on the signing of the mentioned agreement. He issued the necessary instructions to expedite the process of the draft agreement.
